Description Leaves 20-50cm long, 6-10mm wide. Scapes electing 10-25cm tall. Flowers sepals 3-3.5cm long, flowering in March to April. Terrestrial. Perennial plants.

Note  Cymbidium goeringii var. goeringii (in Japan) has single flower on the top of scape.
Cymbidium goeringii var. tortisepalum (in China and Taiwan) has 2 - 4 flowers on a scape. Cymbidium goeringii var. longibracteatum (in China) has 2 - 5 or more flowers on a scape. There is no single flower type.
It may be very difficult to distinguish Cymbidium goeringii var. tortisepalum from Cymbidium goeringii var. longibracteatum.
