With the development of globalization and regionalization, workers are being required to strengthen their solidarity activities across borders. We can see already in Japan that the established trade unions as well as the workers' grass-root organizations are spreading their international activities. Keeping in close touch with such organizations at various levels, our Center intends to monitor the activities of Japanese transnational corporations and to discuss the strategies necessary for strengthening workers' international solidarity. Our ambition is to explore a new Transnational Labor Studies by deepening international communication among workers and researchers. Hopefully, we will make a small contribution toward the revival of an active labor and social movement.
