Note | Authors of Flora of China state "Arabis serrata is highly variable in basal leaf indumentum, margin, and petiole length. Of the many taxa synonymized above, none seems to merit recognition. In fact, A. formosana is indistinguishable from some of the Japanese forms of A. serrata.". However, most Japanese authors believe that such mior variations in leaves, margin and petilole are all very important points. I think that A. serrata in Mt. Fuji has obvious characteristics and an unique native species of Japan. Authors of Flora of China describe that A serrata is 12-35 cm tall and can be found in China, Taian, Korea and Japan. However A serrata is a relatively small mountane wild plants and can be found only in Mt. Fuji of Japan. Presumably there is a kind of misidentification in Flora of China. |
