Description Scapes 20-40cm tall. Leaves none. Flowers dark purple, sepals ca. 1.5-2 cm long and 3-4 mm wide, closed flower only (never open), flowerting in June to July. Terrestrial. Mycorrhizae plants.

Note Endemic to Japan.
European people has often identified that Lecanorchis hokurikuensis Masamune is a synonym of Lecanorchis japonica Blume. But the identification is wrong.
