Description Plants electing 15-30cm tall. Leaves none. Flowers 3-7 at top, pale purple or pink, calyx lobes 22-25mm long, petals ca. 2cm long, labium 6-7mm long and 6-7mm wide (upper surface), spurs pale yellow ca. 7mm long, flowering in July to August. Terrestrial. Perennial plants.

Note Yoania amagiensis Nakai & F. Maekawa (syn. Yoania japonica Maximovicz var. amagiensis Nakai & F. Maekawa) occurs in Honshu (west of Kanto region), Shikoku and Kyushu of Japan. Lemon yellow flowers. Endemic to Japan.
