In good and immediate playing condition, this bow was long in the hands of an American orchestral player and occasionally used for solo performances. This player acquired it in France in the pre-war years while studying in Paris. Despite obvious signs of wear at the thumb rest, it is still in very good condition. It is made of very strong chocolate brown pernambuco and is fully mounted in silver. The evony frog has a silver slide, The adjuster is a later replacement, so is the metal tip. This well crafted stick has no break history and is still going strong after more than one hundred years. The mechanic is A-one and the stick is as straight as an arrow, French bow someone?

As stated above this bow is a fine example of the work of the Bazin family, this one being due to the skillful hand of Charles Nicolas Bazin, founder of the famed Bazin workshop at Mirecourt.
