Watercolor Landscape in Osaka September 12 1992-September 26 1994
12 works by Masaaki Sugita field work

This is the work I was inspired by the drawing of Canaletto. The monochrome finish was the appropriate style for me (only to care of the shadowing, coloring needs much time to wait the best condition), because I had to finish those works quickly as I could, for I had only use Saturday and Sunday for my art, while I was still engaging full time in the mechanical design and developed in Osaka. I moved to Osaka from Kyoto for my job in March 1992.
I invented my drawing scale for my own use August 1992 to draw precisely the city scape. I used this tool from the work No. 5 5002005. It is simple but very practical for an artist, as I mentioned on my writing gAn Exact Landscape paintingh
Those works are the drawing preparing for the matrix of the copper engraving later as I shifted it for the main art.
I held the 3rd solo exhibition by the landscape painting, nude drawing and still life fish and flower at the Museum Gallery Modern Museum Shiga by my expense. As I was trying to find the subject for the copper engraving since 1991 and I thought I had prepared enough drawing for the copper engraving matrix, so I left the job in this year, July 1994.
This year 1994 has been the turning point for my job and life. I began to step out to the way to make the copper engraving since next year 1995, was the beginning of the hard days and poverty.
