BASIC CONCEPTS@

a . THEME

"TWIN COLUMNS SUPPORTING SKY ON THE DUNE"

Twin 200 metres high-rise towers rise from the roof of the low-rise building below which has a grand curve of the dune. This twin "Columns" appear like crystals upheld from dune forming an urban picture frame; It can be seen as anew symbol of Doha and a future gateway for Qatar.

b . LOCATION
This project is to develop a site of 17ha adjacent to Aladdin's Kingdom, located about 7km from downtown of Doha to the north.

Arabian Gulf extend to the north of the site and the environment is developed as housing in accordance with the increase of population.

c . COMPOSITION
This Project is composed of twin 200 metre towers and Gulf Dome to the northside, and a 500 metre long Dune Mall towards the southside. The twin towers include a hotel, condominiums and offices. The Dune Mall consists of huge commercial facilities. The twin towers and Dune Mall are connected by four pedestrian decks over the center street, and a huge parking lot is situated along the underground level.

d . CONTENTS
EAST TOWER & WEST TOWER
The high-rise zone consists of twin towers, East Tower and West Tower, connected at the low-rise levels. The East Tower has office spaces from the 8th floor to the 17th floor, condominium spaces from the 19th floor to the 45th floor and a sky restaurant on the top floor. The West Tower has office spaces from the 8th floor to the 17th floor, hotel spaces from the 19th floor to the 45th floor and sky restaurant on the top floor. In the low-rise zone, there are shopping spaces from the ground floor to the 7th floor.

DUNE MALL
Dune Mall is a huge shopping area ( about 139,000m2) which has a 500 metre long carved roof. The inner space is separated by nine atriums which have access visibility to the north-south direction for emergencies.

GULF DOME
Gulf Dome has the operable open-close roof, a big pool with an artificial tidal wave and two tennis courts in a large space of about 18,600m2. The roof canbe left open throughout most of the year, excluding summer months, to provide natural wind and sunlight. The air conditioning system for the summer season consists of macro air conditioning and local air conditioning. The roof of dome is equipted with solar cell panels to provide the use of abundant solar energy for saving energy.

SUBGRADE PARKING SPACE
This building has huge underground parking facility for about 4,200 vehicles that allow easy, efficient access to the each facility.
