SITE CONDITIONS AND BASIC CONCEPT
The site of this project is located nearly in the center of Kasugai city, Aichi Prefecture, with the ground of approximately 3.3 ha for factory. It has easy access from major transportation networks and is a very convenient place as a suburb of Nagoya city. This project was proposed not only as a mixed-use complex in this site but also as an urban design totally including the surrounding environment.
ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPT
The form of this building was designed as a naturally swelled shape imagining a "Hill" covered with a lawn to decrease a feeling of coercion against the environment of surrounding. This project consists of a hotel facility on the southwest, an amusement facility on the northeast and a shopping facility at the center of this building forming a hill. This building has a courtyard on the second floor and a roof plaza on the 4th and 5th floor to provide for various events and rest place, and to give a vigor and ease to the visitors.
