SITE CONDITIONS AND BASIC CONCEPT

The site of this project is located nearly in the center of Kisogawa town, Aichi Prefecture, where a spinning industry has been prosperous from long time ago, and has an area of approximately 10.3 ha for factory. The Kiso River spreads to the west and Mt. Kinka is observed to the north. This project was proposed for a mixed-use complex to harmonize with the surrounding environment as a redevelopment of this site. The basic concept is an image of "Hill" which symbolizes a revitalization of nature on the site. The softly curved skyline of Hill with various kinds of functions inside responds to the distant Kiso mountains range and reproduces nature in memory.

ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPT

This project is constituted with a shopping building on the east side and a hotel building on the southwest side of the site. And an amusement building is located on the position to connect those buildings for the easy access. These three buildings are designed to face the courtyard (sun set square) for various events and rest place which is also a place for emergency refuse.
