| This is the third challange. Pasific Northwest is in a harsh weather from
Feb to April. Prehaps, it is rare that such a sunny days can meet with weekend. Only gentle swell were coming from the horizon today. Red-rock-fish, 40 inchi (1m) Lingcod, Huge Cabezone and Wolfeel could be the only games which will make me satisfied. Even though the charter provide the anglers with a proper gears including fishing sticks and lures, a picky angler cannot but trying my own hooking systems. My original gears today, dead bait and green-two-tails-lure, should be fine for them. It's just my hope.. In addition, a good hunter have to make his lure alive and attract the fish by taking the bottm situation, fish's appatite, the lure color, the tide current and my position on the boat into account. Getting the pattern of the day, I can reach the fruits of Oregon's deep see forest. |

| ニューポート沖釣り、３度目の挑戦。パシフィックノースウエストの２月、３月、４月の天気は厳しい。 ベーリング海から、アラスカ湾をなぞるように、低気圧が下ってくる。その間と週末が重なるのはレアだ。 残された課題は、赤い魚、メータークラスのリンコッド、巨大なキャベゾン（アイナメ？）、オオカミウオ。 船宿がタックル一式を用意してくれ、船長が魚がいるところまで連れて行ってくれる。 釣人は糸を垂らすだけだが、自然と釣果はちがってくる。 「何を奇妙なことをしているんだろう？このアジア人は。」と青い目線が少し気になるが、 自分のルアーを用意せずにはいられない。 海底、お魚のご機嫌、ルアーの色、潮流をイメージしながら、一投ごとに推理を立て仕掛けを入れていく。 そしてバイトがあれば、そのパターンをもう一度繰り返す、そしてまたバイトがあれば、それが今日のパターンだ。 パターンをつかめば、勝ちだ。 家に帰って、さらに効果的なアプローチと仕掛けを考えてみる、そしてまた次にそれが当たる。 これこそが釣りの醍醐味であり、面白みだ。と思う。 今日は自分の仕掛けを用意してきた。ここの魚たちはグリーンのルアーを好むようだ。ラインは５号、リーダーは１０号、 針はチヌ針８号といったところか。アクスヘッドを用いた２段バリ、上の針にはイワシを付けた。 活性は低く、海底から３０ｃｍ付近をゆっくりと誘いをかけてさぐっていく。 |

| The first catch was Black Seabass as usual, but they were out of my sight
today. Then, I got a sharper signal from the bottom of the green water. It was a 22inch(55cm) Blue-Cabezone! This is the one that had been marked by me. This fish tastes awesome. Crew told me the reason. They are crab eaters!!! Next sharp bite was the Red Rock Fish which also had been staying on my list for a long time. 最初に顔をみせてくれたのは、いつもどおりブラックシーバス（クロメバル？）だ。数匹続いたあと、強烈なアタリ。 浮いてきたのはキャベゾン（アイナメ系？）この魚は、ウマい。ヒラメと同じ味だった。 なんでも、カニを主食にしているらしいからだとか。 |
