| It was the last summer that I first visit here, Oregon Coast. The ceasless freezing wind from the Pacific horizon even cooled me down in the fishing enthusiasm once, but it got back to me when meeting the Captain's Charter with a bigger curiosity of the Pacific Northwest Sea. It might be the last fishing in Oregon today, and the captain gave me a special service, a free tour, for me. 初めてオレゴンコーストを訪れたのは昨年の夏。「地平線」が見える広大な砂浜に打ち付ける巨大な波を見て、 冷たい風に吹かれ、アシカの泣き声を聞いた時、僕は呆然と立ち尽くしてしまった。これが同じ太平洋か？と。 太平洋から吹き付ける冷たい風に、一度自分の釣り熱まで冷まされてしまったが、Captain's Charterと出会い、 再び自分の中に熱いものが戻ってきた。パシフィックノースウエストへの更なる好奇心とともに。 そして、これが最後のオレゴンの釣りかと思うと名残惜しい。 「次はタダでいいから、帰国までにもう一回きてくれよ。」と、船長の粋な計らい、そして昨日に続いて船首の席。 釣らないわけにはいかないだろう。 |

| The first catch was Black seabass as usual. Then I could meet a wolfeel,
but he got came off on the surface. The number of bites on the boat today were even lesser than that of yesterday's. The fish does not seem to be voracious like before and also does not chase the lures aggressively. I prepared for a different hook system to make the lures drift more naturally just one feet(30cm) from the bottom. It was bingo, and three lingcods are attracted and caught in a row. 昨日の経験はこうだ、かなり食い渋っている。魚が積極的にエサを追っている様子はなく、 目の前を通りがかった獲物を捕らえているようだ。底付近を、自然にルアーがドリフトするよう、すこし仕掛けをかえてみた。 初っ端に顔を見せてくれたのはいつものブラックシーバス（黒メバル系？）。 ゆっくりと底付近をドリフトさせたら、ずっしりと重たいアタリ。浮いてきたのは、オオカミウオ（Wolfeel）。 残念ながら、タモいれの時に外れてしまったので、写真がとれなかった。かなりレアモノのよう。 |

| The other rare fish showed up on the surface again. "It's long time no see, Red-Cabezone″the captain said with a gentle smail. The number of bites I can get have increased naturally as I have got familiar with some of their habits and characters. It seems that Cabes, China and Lings prefers a green color lure. Sardine is often be the pray for Black seabass rather than lings, and the bigger dead bait is for the bigger Lings under the current situation. Futhermore, a hard action of lure is disliked by fish when they are not much active for food. The tacts are supporsed be that moving the lures including dead bait slowly from one feet(30cm) from the bottom and waiting for fish enough to catch the lure or bait well. |

しばらく、ブラックシーバスが続いたあとに、ちょっと違うアタリ。レッドキャベゾンだ。 かなりのレアモノらしく、船長がやや興奮していた。 二段針の仕掛けの下に大きめのデッドベイトを付けてみる。 そしてリンコッドのシマにはいったのか、３連続でキャッチ。最大は８０ｃｍ。 通いつめているとだんだんコツが掴めてくる。 そしてアタリの数、竿が曲がる回数が自然と他の釣り人より多くなる。 気のせいかもしれないが、グリーンのツインテールにキャベゾン、チャイナロック、リンコッドはよくアタる。 イワシにはブラックシーバスが、そして大きめのコノシロにはリンコッドが。 習性はカサゴと同じで、誘い方とタナはチヌのそれと同じだ。チヌ釣りとの違いは「自分がウキの上にいる」ことか。 そして活性の低い時には、派手な誘いは逆効果のよう。 底付近でルアーをまごつかせ、アタリがあれば食い込むまで待つ。それがコツのようだ。 |

| 去年の夏から、ここに通っていればな、と多少後悔が残る。またいつか夏に来る機会があれば、巨大オヒョウにチャレンジしたい。 I wish I would have known about here from the last summer, and I would love to come back again for Hulibut in summer. |
