Origin of "Okawa Sensuke Kohaku"

The Nishiki Koi "Okawa Sensuke Kohaku" is one of the most beautiful carp in the world. The Origin of Nishiki Koi "Okawa Sensuke Kohaku" started from two carps of "Sensuke Kohaku direct descendant in 1964.
Mr. Toshiaki Tanaka (President), when he was 18 years old, got Koi "Sensuke Kohaku" female at Koi Farm "Miyatora Youri" in Niigata, Japan. She was 65cm long, 3 years old. 65cm long Nishiki Koi was very huge carp in that time, anybody was surprised by 65cm long Nishki koi, it seems like 80cm long nisiki koi in nowadays. The Sensuke Kohaku had beautiful red & white color in her body. Mr. Tanaka was charmed with style and color of the lovely Sensuke Kohaku, and he made up his mind to breed best Sensuke Kohaku with her. In a few year, He was success in crossbreeding with the male Nishiki Koi "Sankuro Iwamagi" which won prize of the Ministry Minister of Agriculture,Forestry and Fisheries in 1968 Tokyo contest of All Japan Nishiki Koi promotion association. Hereby, the most beautiful Nishiki Koi "Okawa Sensuke Kohaku" has borne. She has beautiful red color and pure white, excellent physique. Mr. Tanaka, he is success in making beautiful and unforgetabel "red & white" color Nishiki Koi "Okawa Sensuke Kohaku".

WHAT'S Sensuke Kohaku

What is "Sensuke Kohaku"? It is Nishiki Koi red and white color. She had a big and good style. Remarkable style:No "Maezashi", "Kamisorigiwa" style. It was made by Mr.Sakutaro Tsuna at Niigata 40 years ago(in 1960). Mr. Tsuna crossbreeded two Nishiki Koi. One was a female carp "Tomoemon Kohaku" which was made by Genjiro at Kizawa, Niigata, the other was a male carp "Tomoemon Kohaku" which was made by Tsunehichi at Aikawa, Niigata.
