Manual for making of Web-site
The reason, I made my web site http://homepage2.nifty.com/tkeizo/
was simple. For the need of my work, some
study of web site was done. During this study,
I happened to think about setting up own
web site. Private web site could be set easily
when you are customer(member) of Internet
provider. This is a simple manual.
1) Usually, Internet provider allow a member
to set up web site without additional fee.
In my case, provider(@nifty) offer 10 M bite
web site free of charge.
2) Subscription of web site to provider.
@nifty opens subscription web site, and applicant
should access it with E-mail address and
password.
3) Naming of private web site. I decided
to use "tkeizo" as my name, then
it became as follows; http://homepage2.nifty.com/tkeizo/
FTP was decided in advance as "ftp11.nifty.com",
and access name was given from @nifty as
********. The password was decided by myself
as ******.
4) Computer software for making a web site
should be chosen. Various software are existed
from free-ware, share ware and sale product.
Initially, I chose share ware HyperEdit,
and then pay 3,000 yen for registration.
Also, I bought IBM's "Homepage Builder"
and "Expert of Digital Camera"
with discount price of 13,000 yen at Tokyo
big-sight. It is said "Homepage Builder"
itself will be priced around 10,000 yen.
5) Initial file name should be index.html,
but it depends on provider. If you use another
name such as try.html, it will not de displayed.
5) For uploading of web pages, software of
ftp is necessary. "Homepage Builder"
and "HyperEdit" includes this function
as a complementary.
6) Some hurdles are existed for uploading.
You should fill the following data. 1. Host
name; tp11.nifty.com (in my case) 2. User
name; ******** 3. Password; ******
7) In web site, one would like to install
an access counter, but here some hurdle exist
also. In @nifty, detailed procedure is shown
in web site. One key point is to describe
full address, http://***.***.
8) A trap which many people could fall is
to use capital character and small character
in same way. In the making "html",
there must be separately treated.
