(A postscript of S. Shiroyama, on Autumn of year 1994 )
Man of larger than life is now needed. Against the wall of big depression, I want to meet a great person who will guide us with the rule of right, taking a broad view of the situation. This is the motif for writing this book. After survey his life, I could found he was a husband with genuine love with wife and could afford many thing for spare time, not only he was a man with plenty of guts. Until the death, he choose multi-track way of life During gathering data about him and writing, I have being hearing from his voice of "don't play cheap tricks".

(my impression of the book)
This is very interesting book. He guided the recovery of Japanese economy after world war-II as a head of Toshiba Co. and President of Japan Federation of Economics Organization. His personality was not so unique, but have a common sense and humor of sense.
In year 1970, April 29, he got the highest order of merit from government. Executives of Toshiba Co. wanted to give him a present for celebration and asked him for selection. He replied "I want a tombstone, because I will go only the Tama Cemetery from now", and they gave a black granite. He was a president of Japan World Exposition held in year 1970 at Osaka. He complained about the official governmental report of the Exposition, which stressed the role of government only but not private sector in year 1972.
