Hot Spring "Shio-no-yu";
An forum was held from Aug. 2-4, 2000, at Nasu Shiobara, "Myuga-ya".
This a retreat type meeting, and participants should stay same hotel. Procedure was based on Gordon conference, where participants should keep the content of presentation as a private, and free discussion were encouraged at the meeting and dinner or breakfast.

Hotel "Myoga-ya" is located Nasu Shiobara, 150km north-east of Tokyo. Nasu Shiobara is famous for its hot springs and ski resort in winter time. Location of Myoga-ya is a bit far away from down town of Nasu Shiobara, where many big hotels are concentrated. Load to this hotel is rather narrow, and this may be the reason, neighboring hotels near the hotel were abandoned. But, the hotel itself was reconstructed only three years ago and are very modern facility.

Origin of the hotel goes back to year 1596. Mr. Kimishima(an ancestor of present owner) founded an inn that year. During Edo period(year 1603-1867), more than several thousands people visited Shionoyu.
Open air hot spring of the hotel is situated just 2-3m above the river Sikamawa. Hot spring water(very hot) is transferred by conduit to big three bus tubs.
The whole structures around the hot spring are made from woods, and atmosphere of it is truly like Edo period.

Access to the hotel is easy. From Nasu highway junction of Tohoku, only 25 minutes. I used my car go back to Tokyo, taking two hours and a half, because of traffic congestion near Tokyo. Tariff of high way from Nasu to Tokyo was 3750 yen is not very cheap. By the way, hotel fee was 10,000 per day, including meals was modest, taking into account the first class of that hotel.
