The house was crowded, and hundreds were outside unable to obtain admission. ボクシング大試合が音楽学校にてこの午後行われた。会場は満員、数百人が入場できず戸外に溢れた。 At ten minutes to three the men faced each other. Foley, somewhat pale and anxious appeared in the buff, Miller wore a guernsey. The men shook hands amidst cheers. In the fourth round Miller drew first blood from Foley by a hard hit with his left on to his nose. After the 40th round a person known as “Hoppy Charley,” who was on the stage, entered the ring, causing a disturbance. The audience then rushed the stage and stopped the fight. In the 37th round Miller knocked Foley over the ropes, and each succeeding round knocked him clean off his feet. The men were fighting for nearly three hours. The Inspector of Police examined the gloves used before the fight commenced. Foley was severely bruised about the face and shoulders and appeared very faint several times, whilst Miller appeared fresh from the start to the finish.
