　To-morrow night a rare treat is in store for patrons of the Summer Gardens. The evening’s programme will be made up of boxing, wrestling, and single stick exhibitions. …

　明日の夜は滅多にないお楽しみが夏庭園の常連客達のために用意されている。晩の番組は拳闘、レスリング、そして竹刀剣術の公開によって作られよう。（中略）

　Habu, the Japanese wrestler, will engage with George Leopold under catch-as-catch-can conditions, and if the Jap wrestles up to his reputation, this contest will be well worth seeing. Last, but not least, the Japanese will indulge in their clever performance with the single sticks, and anybody desirous of having a whack at the wily little Jap is quite at liberty to do so. Altogether the programme is a novel and interesting one, and should draw a good crowd.

　はぶ、日本人レスラーは、ジョージ･レオポルドと掴める様に掴め式の条件の下で対戦を契約するであろう。もし日本人が闘って評判を上げるようなら、この競技は十分に見る価値があろう。最後に、と言っても重要な事だが、日本人達は竹刀を取っての巧みな演武を存分に行うであろうし、狡猾な小さい日本人達に一撃を加えたい者は誰でも全く自由にそうしてよろしい。全く番組は新規で興味深いものであり、きっと大観衆を引き寄せるであろう。

　はぶ対レオポルド戦は、13日となりました。9日は剣術だけ行ったのでしょう。
　4月11日の興行では“Ishee”（石江ないし石井）の名前も出ており、はぶも同じ一座の一員でレスリング（柔術？）担当だったと思われます。
