C. A proposition to meet the winner of next Monday’s contest was put before Gotch and he agreed to take a match if sufficient financial inducements were offered. As a climax, Tom Jenkins, who was referee, declared that both wrestlers were disqualified for violating every rule of wrestling after the men had been on the mat for twenty-nine minutes and six seconds. 我が町に於けるレスリング勝負にかつて示した内で最悪の失敗の一つが起きたのは昨夜大中央殿に於いてで、時にゴールウェイ州のパット･コノリーとコーク州のコン･オケリーが、自分達の試合を殴打戦となし、それが警察の干渉を要した。とどのつまり、トム･ジェンキンズ、行司が、レスリングのあらゆる規定違反の理由で両レスラーの失格を宣したのは両者がマット上に二十九分と六秒いた後であった。 From the very start the two began to rough it, and Connolly proceeded in the first few minutes to gouge O’Kelly’s eye. A short time later the two came to blows, Connolly landing a heavy one that drew blood from O’Kelly’s mouth, and the latter retaliated. Jenkins at this point warned both men that he would stop the event if they did not observe the rules of the game. At the same time Capt. Both made vicious swings. Some landed and others went wild, but the indication was that before long it would be a prizefight, and Referee Jenkins announced that both men were disqualified.
