It is believed that the body of Yousouf, the Turkish wrestler, who went down with the steamship La Bourgogne, is now buried on Sable Island, where it was washed ashore on Sept. 16. A belt containing a large sum of gold in French and American coins was found around the waist, while the description of the body tallies with that of the famous athlete.

　汽船ラ･ブルゴーニュ号と共に沈んだ、トルコ人レスラー、ユーソフの遺体が、今葬られていると考えられているのはセイブル島、その岸にそれは9月16日に打ち上げられた。多額の仏国並びに米国金貨の入ったベルトがその胴回りに見つかった一方、遺体の様相はその有名な運動家のそれに符合する。

Not Much Doubt that the Body Washed Ashore on Sable Island Was That of the Turk.
セイブル島に漂着した遺体がトルコ人のものである事にはまず疑いなし。

　HALIFAX, N. S., Oct. 9.―Passengers on board the steamer Newfield, which arrived yesterday from Sable Island, declare that the body washed ashore there on Sept. 16 was undoubtedly that of Yousouf, the Terrible Turk.

　ハリファックス、ノヴァ･スコシア、10月9日。…昨日セイブル島より到着した、汽船新田号の乗客達が、断言したのはその地の岸に9月16日に流れ着いた遺体が疑う余地なくユーソフ、恐怖のトルコ人のものであった事である。

　The body was that of a man of powerful build, and it was sourrounded by a leather belt containing gold pieces of the value of $10 and $20 each. Part of the belt had become detached. Yousouf was supposed to have had $2,800 in his belt when he went down with the steamer La Bourgogne.

　遺体は力強い体格の男のもので、そしてそれは各々が10ドルと20ドルの価値のある金貨の入ったなめし皮のベルトで取り巻かれていた。ベルトの一部は遊離していた。ユーソフは彼がラ･ブルゴーニュ号と共に沈んだ際そのベルトの内に2,800ドルを持っていたと推測された。
