To-night at the Athletic Hall the wrestling match between Peter McGregor, the champion Scotch wrestler, and G. Rennert, who was associated with Hackenschmidt, will take place. After considerable negotiation Mr. C. Bastard has brought these two champions together to test their skill at catch-as-catch-can wrestling for ?25 aside and the championship. McGregor, who is 25 years of age, is an enginefitter by trade, and has travelled about the world. He has beaten Homewood (15 st.), of Custon. England ; William Hills, of Strood (13 st.) ; the Birmingham champion, Showell ; B. Shine, of Portsmouth ; and Yokio Tani, the Japanese exponent of wrestling. He has also earned much fame as a weight-lifter, having, in Melbourne, before 2.000 people, lifted a 101 1/2-lb. dumbbell 22 times from the floor to the shoulder―a feat that no other athlete has performed. The meeting of Rennert and McGregor is certain to draw a crowd of people.
