アメリカと韓国からのお客様を2日間ご案内。こちらは雲場池。紅葉の名所ですが、氷と雪に覆われた静寂の景色も幻想的です。 We guided guests from the U.S. and South Korea for two days. This is Kumoba Pond. This place is the sights of autumn leaves, but its winter is also fantastic with the quiet scenery covered with ice and snow.	旧三笠ホテル。1906年にホテルとしてオープンし、多くの著名人が宿泊しました。1980年に重要文化財に指定され、現在は一般公開されています。展示品や調度品からかつての華やかな時代を偲んでいただきました。 Kyu (Former) Mikasa Hotel. It opened in 1906 as a hotel and many famous persons stayed here. In 1980 the building was appointed to an important cultural asset. At present it is open to the general public. The guests imagined the old gorgeous time from the exhibits and the furniture.
聖パウロ教会から軽井沢銀座へ。 We went to St. Paul's Catholic Church, and then to Karuizawa Ginza Shopping Street.	軽井沢チャーチストリート。軽井沢銀座にあるリゾートショッピングモールです。 Karuizawa Church Street. This is a resort shopping mall in Karuizawa Ginza.
万平ホテル。ジョン・レノンも泊まった1894年創業の軽井沢を代表するクラシックホテル。アルプス館の客室を見学させていただきました。 Mampei Hotel. John Lennon stayed here. It is Karuizawa's representative classic hotel that has been in operation since 1894. We visited a guest room of the Main Building Alps.	万平ホテルのカフェテラスで優雅にティータイム。 The guests enjoyed an elegant teatime at the Cafe Terrace of the hotel.
軽井沢プリンスショッピングプラザ。日本人にも外国人にも人気のあるショッピングスポットです。自然に溶け込むような広々としたモールの造りがリゾートらしさを感じさせてくれます。 Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza, a popular shopping spot both among the Japanese and foreign tourists. This extensive mall that looks as if it merged into nature makes us feel the atmosphere of a resort.	国内外の人気ブランドがそろいます。アウトレットなので掘り出し物を見つけるのも楽しみです。 The shopping plaza has a good collection of popular domestic and foreign brands. This is an outlet mall, so we find pleasure in finding and buying things at a bargain.
広々とした雪景色もアウトレットの敷地内です。 This snowfield is inside the premises of the outlet mall.	白糸の滝の手前。春から秋もよいですが、静寂に包まれる雪の朝の美しさは格別。訪れる人は少ないですがお奨めです。左手には滝から流れる清流が見えます。 Just before Shiraito Waterfall. The waterfall is wonderful from spring to autumn, but a quiet snowy morning is especially beautiful. There are few visitors in winter, but we recommend going here. On the left you can see a clear stream flowing from the waterfall.
白糸の滝。看板の前で記念撮影。透んだ水に感激されていました。高さは3メートルですが幅が70メートルもあります。 A commemorative photograph was taken in front of Shiraito Waterfall. The guests were deeply moved by the clear water. The waterfall is only 3 meters high, but it is as wide as 70 meters.	白い糸のように流れ落ちる滝の水は、この場所から湧き出ています。最後は日本海に至る湯川の源流です。 Water is running down as if it were white threads. It gushes out from the rock here. This is a source of the Yukawa River and leads to the Japan Sea.
落葉した木々が青空に映えます。木が多い軽井沢は、葉っぱのない季節は視界が広がります。 Trees without leaves are beautiful against the blue sky. When trees don't have any leaves on them, we feel as if the field of vision had been expanded.	六里ヶ原。雄大な浅間山が間近に迫ります。 Rokurigahara. The great Asama Mountain stands sharply near at hand.
鬼押出し園。1783年の浅間山の大噴火の溶岩流が凝結した鬼押出しを歩いて見学できます。 Onioshidashien. This is a park of coagulated lava created by Asama Mountain's volcanic eruption in 1783. We can walk through the lava field.	日本の自然公園はアメリカと比べて規模が小さいが、よく整備されていて美しい、とのご感想でした。 The guests said that Japanese natural parks were smaller, but were maintained better than those of the U.S. and beautiful.
大噴火の犠牲者を供養する観音堂。 A temple called Kannondo dedicated to the victims of the volcanic eruption.	お団子など和菓子で休憩。 We took a rest with Japanese sweets like "dango" dumplings.
ホテルアンビエント蓼科のレストランでご昼食。ご希望の洋食をお召し上がりいただきました。窓からは女神湖が見えました。 The guests had lunch at Hotel Ambient Tateshina's restaurant. They chose Italian food. Lake Megami was seen beyond the windows.	女神湖の湖岸は、新雪と霧氷で何とも言えない美しさでした。 The shore of Lake Megami was beautiful beyond expression with fresh snow and rime-covered trees.
太陽の光に輝く霧氷。 The rime on trees was shining with sunlight.	女神湖をバックに1枚。 A picture with Lake Megami (megami means goddess) in the background.
湖岸。 A picture at the lakeshore.	ツアー終了時に、「一番よかったのはどこですか？」とお聞きしたら、「どこもよかったが、湖畔の霧氷がきれいでした」とおっしゃいました。それがこちらです。 "Where did you like best?", we asked the guests when the tour was finished. "The rime on trees around the lake was more beautiful than anything." they said.
「氷の花」。「氷の宝石」。いろいろな例えで絶賛。いつでも霧氷が見られるわけではないので、本当にラッキーでした。 The guests praised the rime on trees with various expressions. For instance, "ice flower" and "ice jewel". We were lucky because the rime couldn't be seen every day.	白樺湖をバックに。 A picture with Lake Shirakaba in the background.
左手奥には蓼科山が見えています。また、白樺湖の近辺にはたくさんスキー場があります。 Left in the back we could see Mt. Tateshina. There are many skiing grounds on the outskirts of Lake Shirakaba.	最後の目的地、小諸の懐古園。白樺高原は真っ白でしたが、雪もなく晴れていました。 The final destination was a park called Kaikoen in Komoro. Although the Shirakaba highlands was white with snow, it was fine weather in Komoro.
懐古神社をバックに。 A picture with Kaiko Shrine in the background.	重要文化財の三の門。この後軽井沢に戻りツアー終了。ご参加ありがとうございました! またぜひ、日本、そして長野に遊びにいらしてください。 Sannomon, an important cultural property in Japan. After this we came back to Karuizawa and the tour was finished. We thank the guests for participation! Please do visit again Japan and Nagano.
緑が美しい旧軽井沢の別荘地の小道にて。 On the beautiful lane in the holiday cottage area of Kyu-Karuizawa, where we enjoyed green leaves.	矢ヶ崎公園。天気がよければ離山と浅間山が同時に見えますが、この日は離山だけがはっきり見えています。 Yagasaki Park. If it is fine, Mt. Hanare and Mt. Asama can be seen at the same time. On this day we could clearly see Mt. Hanare only.
御膳水。鹿島の森ホテルの敷地内にある、雲場池の源流。明治天皇もご飲用されました。 Gozensui, meaning water served to the emperor. It is inside Hotel Kajimanomori and is a source of Kumoba Pond. The Meiji Emperor had this water.	聖パウロ教会。ちょうど結婚式をやっていました。三角屋根と尖塔は、軽井沢のシンボル的風景です。 St. Paul's Catholic Church. A couple was just holding a wedding ceremony here. This church with a triangle roof and a steeple is a symbolic sight of Karuizawa.
レンタサイクル店で自転車を借り、サイクリングツアーに出発。 Guests rented bikes from a rental bike store. Leaving for a cycling tour.	湯川のほとりで深呼吸。水源は白糸の滝です。便利なエリアでも、樹木や川を身近に感じられます。 They took a deep breath beside the Yukawa River. The source of this river is Shiraito Waterfall. Though it was in the convenient area, they enjoyed rich nature like trees and a river.
木漏れ日が美しい別荘小道。軽井沢は一般世帯よりも別荘世帯の方が多い、日本有数の別荘地です。 A beautiful holiday cottage lane with the sunshine filtering through the trees. Karuizawa is one of Japan's most eminent holiday cottage areas with more cottages than permanent residential houses.	しかし、教会や別荘地だけではありません。のどかな田園地帯もまた魅力です。 Churches and cottages are not the only places that are pleasant. A peaceful rural area like this photo is also a charm of Karuizawa.
畑の小道では、爽快なサイクリングを楽しめます。この日は霞んでいますが、浅間山もよく見えるスポットです。 On the lanes in the fields you can enjoy refreshing cycling. On this day the sky was hazy, but if it is fine weather, you can see Mt. Asama clearly from here.	キャベツなど高原野菜が栽培されています。 Highland vegetables were grown like cabbages and so on.
こちらはソバの花。 These are buckwheat flowers.	トウモロコシも。 This is a cornfield.
千ヶ滝をめざす手軽なハイキングコース。透き通った清流に沿った美しい道を歩きます。この日は8名様グループです。 An easy hiking trail for Sengataki Waterfall. We walked the beautiful trail along the transparent clear stream. On this day we guided a group of eight guests.	千ヶ滝。落差20メートルは軽井沢で最大。透明な水に触れるとひんやりしていました。 Sengataki Waterfall. It is 20 meters high and is the highest fall in Karuizawa. When we touched clear water, it was cold.
