Decide whether to make it as a European type or as an American type.

We occasionally call the exhibition hall by the word "Messe". I heard that the etymology of Messe was in the Mass of the church. At the beginning, the branch shop lined up in the street in the day with the Mass, and it had developed into the exhibition of the commodity. 

It looks like at the fair of the Shinto shrine in Japan. We call it as “EN-NICHI”. Certainly, thinking about the management of the exhibition hall, booth block planning and its operation is basically the same as that of the stalls at the EN-NICH.

By the way, the exhibition halls are necessary for the exhibition center. 
At HARUMI fair ground in former days, there is one big main-passage at the center of the ground and  6 independent pavilion which has several thousand square meter area were arranged respectively one by one. 

A lot of exhibition halls in Europe are such type. 

Because the structure of the exhibition hall is simple like the hangar of the airplane, the maintenance expenditure does not become large amount of money. 

Oppositely, on the occasion of rain, the customers dislike to move to the next hall. 

So important concern for the exhibition enterprise is whether its own booth is arranged at good position of good hall or not.

On the other hand, many facilities, for example exhibition halls, assembly hall, and restaurants (When its scale is large, hotel also) were concentrated on the one package is called as “Convention center”.  This convention-center type exist in Las Vegas, Chicago, and New York in USA. Makuhari Messe is one of these convention centers when strictly classifying it.

In the old times exhibition had only exhibited the commodity. But the exhibition of  the products which used highly developed technology has increased recently, and the performance cannot be understood enough only from seeing goods. 

Therefore, the exhibition by which the seminar, the lecture, the panel discussion, and the reception party, etc. are held together has increased. 

The convention center type is a form of the hall which adjusted to the exhibition of such a new type. 
On the other hand, to maintain the fineness of the facilities, a lot of money is needed. 

First of all, when the exhibition hall is newly constructed, let's decide whether to make it as a European type or as an American type. 

I will design this exhibition center on the assumption of an American type (convention center type) at this time. But I think that you should occasionally make it to be a simple facilities without putting the looking honor according to the situation.
