As for the circulation space in Tokyo Big Sight, the whole is covered with the roof of the glass. 
Because sunlight entered directly through the roof of the glass, we thought that we were able to save the electric fee used for the illumination etc. greatly. 

However, a lot of complaints "It is hot" were insisted on by the customer after it had opened. 
As a result, air-conditioning becomes a full rotation at the summer time. But, however strongly the air conditioner was applied, it does not become cool in the the sun-room where direct sunshine strikes very much. 

Then, the temperature in each part in the facilities was measured with the thermometer to achieve the actual heat. 
An actual temperature was not particularly so high though it was an unexpected result. 

The cause was an influence with "Sensible temperature". 

When direct sunshine is bathed in under a glazed roof, person actually feels that the temperature is  higher than actual.
Then, we should think about various strategies for the design of the exhibition hall of the ideal. 

The shade of a half transparency is set up under the glass roof. 
To lower the sensible temperature, the installation of shade has a considerably large effect.
We are reflecting that we only had to set up the cover of the automatic switch type over the whole building. 
It costs a lot of expenditures for air-conditioning. Do not save facilities necessary to lower the air-conditioning expenditure even if it costs for the installation. 

The sunlight which has entered through the glass is used as a borrowed light that the bounce is done once. 
By the way, the roof of the exhibition hall in Tokyo Big Sight has taken this method. As for the cover of the window, the opening and shutting operation can be done in the office. Direct sunshine is an enemy of the exhibition. However, the light is necessary for putting equipment in and out. 

I think that it is also effective to install planting on the outside of the wide window
As for the exhibition hall, the wall and the pillar are built with concrete and the aluminum metal by all means. When green comes into sight, the mind is very relieved. 
We actually tried to arrange trees in a public space of Tokyo Big Sight . However, the result was a large failure.
In the closed space, the tree does not grow up well. 
Then, you might think that the solution is to build the facilities which sunshine does not enter. 

However, the exhibition hall which sunlight does not enter is quite the same as the warehouse. It is too lonely place.
The entrepreneur who came to make a preliminary inspection loses the desire of using it. There is no existence meaning of the exhibition center if it cannot give us a dream.
