Establish the hotel as an annex.
Some hotels have been built around the exhibition hall in each hall of Makuhari Messe, Pacifico Yokohama, and Tokyo Big Sight.

Naturally, the hotelier is expecting the person related to the exhibition hall to stay. There is a big difference between the busy period and free time of the exhibition hall. The staying guest who does not aim at the exhibition is necessary. The hotel specification changes greatly by the hotel idea to this. 
If another expression is used, whether the hotel specification is assumed to be a business hotel type or to be a resort hotel type. 

The person who stays at the hotel related to the exhibition is an exhibition company from the provinces. Business traveling expenses are provided for them by the company for the reasons to go out to the exhibition. And, they go sightseeing in Tokyo about 1 or 2 days after the exhibition. 

The person who explains in the booth should also stay hotel, when the exhibition hall is away from the city . It becomes a big expenditure load for the exhibition company.

If the exhibition is large-scale, total of the exhibition company becomes over a hundred. Quite a lot of people stay at the hotel.  
However, such people search for a cheap hotel even if somewhat far when the hotel lodging expense is high. They does not stay at a gorgeous hotel no matter how it is near the site.

Three hotels (the hotel Japan Air Lines, the hotel Meridian Grand Pacific, and the Washington hotel) have been built in Odaiba now. Washington hotel that is the nearest Tokyo Big Sight is a business type, and the other hotel are resorting type. They suit the situation. 

By the way, if a hotel would be established as an annex of the exhibition center, the function of the hotel could be done as one body as the exhibition hall,  the management of the exhibition hall changes greatly. 
I recommend "Establish as an annex". 

When the exhibition hall is used as a convention center, the reception hall where the opening ceremony party etc. of the exhibition are held will be set up. 
However, to execute the party of several thousand people, the kitchen equipment of a large scale and the person should be able to be arranged. If the hall side prepares this, the load grows. 

If the hotel is established as an annex, the management of the reception hall can be consigned to the hotel. 
Moreover, the conference facilities management can be consigned to the hotel. 

It is necessary to decide the role allotment on the exhibition hall side and the hotel side before the center is designed. 
The design of the exhibition center will be greatly influenced as that result. 




There is some problem in establishing hotel as an annex.. 

To begin with, the consignee is monopolized. Therefore, it is necessary to make the consignment cost not become expensive. 
Above all, it is necessary to do the reasonable price set setting which the user does not think to be "It is high". 

In The Second, the hotel says their demand to the management of the exhibition hall. 
Because the hotel should also do the stability management, they will strongly request attracting the exhibition which causes an own profit. 

The answer by which all are satisfied is the one not found easily. 

Then, Tokyo Big Sight does not monopolize ordering ahead of the reception. There are 13 restaurants in it. All restaurants have the restaurant group which becomes a big support. When it is necessary, the person is dispatched by that group.
